Frequently asked questions
What UppaGo and Tally actually do today, and where the boundaries are. Each answer links to the fuller guide.
What is UppaGo?
UppaGo is a financial AI company. Tally, its core product, works on document-driven bookkeeping: reading financial documents, building a record of how a business handles them, and routing decisions to a person. A standalone Inbox Starter product is built alongside Tally, with self-serve purchase currently paused and access activated during onboarding.
What is Tally?
Tally is the product you work in. It reads invoices and receipts, extracts the vendor, dates, amounts, currency, tax and line items, and suggests a category from what your business has done before. Every document carries Tally’s own confidence assessment, and anything that needs a person lands in the review queue with the reason attached.
Who is Tally for?
Two kinds of user, without ranking one above the other: small-business owners who manage their own books, and bookkeeping or accounting firms managing many client workspaces. The fit is defined by the workflow rather than the industry — Tally suits businesses whose bookkeeping is document-driven, and is industry-agnostic within that.
Does Tally replace QuickBooks?
No. QuickBooks Online remains your ledger. Tally sits in front of it, handling document intake, checking and review, then prepares approved documents for a previewed, human-initiated push to QuickBooks as Bills, with your GL mappings honoured, on Starter and above.
You see the preview before anything is written, and the push is always started by a person. There is no one-click path from an unreviewed document into your accounting system, by design.
Does Tally replace a bookkeeper or accountant?
No. Tally preserves human authority and keeps risky or unresolved work with a person. High-risk actions never execute on their own: Tally does not send email to your vendors or clients by itself, does not push to QuickBooks in one click, and does not transmit anything to a tax authority.
A firm can use Tally as the surface its team reviews work in, across all of its client workspaces.
How do documents get into Tally?
Three ways. You can upload invoices and receipts directly, including in bulk. You can import CSV exports from another system to bring historical records in. And on Pro and above, Inbox gives your workspace a dedicated forwarding address so emailed invoices are extracted automatically — that transport is activated during onboarding, and no forwarding address is issued before then.
Separately, a bank feed connected through Plaid brings in transactions on Starter and above.

When can Tally approve a document without me?
Only where you have permitted it, and only vendor by vendor. Permission is earned from live human reviews on that specific vendor — imported history gives Tally context but never counts toward the right to act. There is no global autonomous mode.
Meeting a vendor’s conditions establishes eligibility, not a guarantee for any given document: the document itself still has to pass every check. How long this takes depends entirely on your review volume for that vendor, so no timeline is promised.
What does Tally do when something looks wrong?
It flags the document and leaves it for a person. Tally compares each new document against what it has recorded for that vendor — typical amounts, and the intervals documents normally arrive on — and every flag comes with a clear reason: a new vendor, an unusual amount, a possible duplicate, or a missing field.
Where a vendor has produced roughly six documents on a consistent interval, Tally can also point out that an expected one has not arrived, and how late it is.
Can Tally connect to Xero, Sage or NetSuite?
No. QuickBooks Online is the accounting system Tally connects to. Tally does import CSV exports from other systems, including Xero, which is useful for bringing historical records in — but that is an import feature, not an integration, and nothing is pushed back out to those systems.
What happens with an invoice in another currency?
Tally does not convert currencies. Amounts are read and kept in the currency the document was issued in, and a document in any currency other than your base currency is capped to human review rather than becoming eligible for automatic handling — regardless of how much history that vendor has.
Bank-feed coverage also varies by institution and region, so region-specific setup is confirmed during onboarding.
Does Tally file 1099s?
No. On Pro and above, Tally helps prepare 1099-NEC PDFs for contractors above the IRS reporting threshold, for you to distribute to the contractor. It does not file, e-file or submit anything to the IRS — no transmission path exists in the product.
Filing responsibility stays with you or your accountant.
How is one business’s data kept separate from another’s?
Every business has its own workspace, and data is scoped to it. A firm sees each of its clients as a separate workspace rather than as one merged pile, and a team member sees only the clients they have been assigned.
Where firm-level memory is available, it is limited to that firm’s own authorized client workspaces and never crosses into unrelated firms or customers.
What does Ask Tally answer from on this site?
The public Ask Tally box on the landing and Help pages answers from published product documentation and the Help Center only. When you are not signed in it has no access to any account, workspace or document data whatsoever — that boundary is structural, not a setting.
Inside the product, signed in, Ask Tally answers from your own workspace.
Does UppaGo hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001?
No. UppaGo does not hold, and does not claim, any security or compliance certification. The Data Security page describes what is actually in place today — workspace isolation, the audit trail, how third-party providers are used, and how deletion works — in plain language, and says so where something is not in scope.
What plans does Tally have?
Five: Free, Starter, Pro, Business and Enterprise. Free gives you Tally’s document review and vendor and business memory on your own data. Starter adds the bank feed and the QuickBooks push. Pro adds Inbox email forwarding, progressive per-vendor autonomy, 1099-NEC preparation and the cash-flow forecast. Business adds seats, bank connections and the per-client firm capabilities. Enterprise is arranged directly.
Current prices and what each tier includes are on the plans page.
